WASHINGTON, June 5, 2013 — Saturday’s Women’s Final at Wimbledon will be historic on two counts: This is the first time that finalists will be looking to take their first Grand Slam title, and the Wimbledon top prize money increased by 39% this year, making the 2013 purse the biggest in the history of professional tennis.
